I thought you had a Coral? And why are you transcoding Plex? :wtf:
i had a coral on order that got canceled

Because I have users just like you do. Ones whos clients dont direct play

And i download EVvvvvvverything in 4k, because Domon.

ahhh, you use the box as a player too, not just a server.

Yeah, thatd work fine for an output. There will be a bios setting to have both the UHD and the PCIe card active thatll youll have to flip, but beyond that no biggie.
Now, if I could just buy things without the COVID and ethereum markup in place, I'd be golden :p

So apparently Facebook's infrastructure is so fucked, the physical badge access system is down. People can't get into the building. Also, all their internal collaboration tools are offline, so no one can work anyway.

A friend and colleague of mine almost went to work at Facebook a few years ago. Had a couple of interviews. Would have been high up in the network ops team too. The entire network infrastructure at that time was run mostly by like 50 people if that. Everything was automated & scripted. Just a bunch of datacenter lackeys to change out servers and that low level remote hands crap. What happened today: Someone made a booboo on a BGP update script, it replicated network wide, and poof bye bye connectivity to your own DNS servers. I feel bad for those guys/gals. They're gunna get reamed out for automating the shit out of stuff as they were directed to.

The nasty side effect of FB being down was all of the public DNS servers (except Cloudflare from what I read) took on a bunch of queries that kept failing and thus drove up their processing time.

Shit rolls downhill, water is wet, dog bites man. This is the way of things.

If only they had tested in dev and qual before rolling to prod. @Valve1138 could really teach them a thing or three about devops on the network level.
