Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

using 1.5 inch pvc every 10 ft for posts, drive it 2 feet into the ground, mount clfex to it.

saved me the 6x6 pricing issue.

Debating metal mesh which I already have for the bottom two feet, or just 3 strands of electric so critters get a zap on the nose before trying to chew through the cflex

Use real lumber for the corners. Learned that one.

Do both the mesh and the electric.

Baby bunnies are tiny.

yeah, but tiny ass EMT if i remember right. And ill have a tensioned top wire to help with sag.

ill look at bracing the corners or stepping it up to a wooden post thats actually pressure treated and not complete bullshit thatlld rot out

the receptacle box, and how thats tied into the circuit.

This is your exact setup if the receptacle box werent in place i think

The question is, how is the receptacle getting power. Before the fan, after the fan?
Likely in the attic. So the only weird part is that you don't know where it gets tied in? So if you went in my attic, none of it would be weird? :wtf:

But yes.

Original plan it is, run a neutral from the receptacle box, confuse the next homeowner, but have a working switch.

Do them a favor and document your fuckery in sharpie on the inside of the box cover so they dont have to go through this
