right now im more into this type of bass, especially the tone, playing is way cool too :)


Just played the album. Thought I posted that. Anywho, Weiland is one of my top vocalists and the De Leo bros are fucking genius songwriters. Weiland is up there with Jim Morrison and Lou Gramm from Foreignor., imo. Crazy perfect rock voices.

yes he was a great vocalist and his lyrics were pretty good too, especially in the first 2 albums,
this song is just so different from the rest of the stuff they do makes you see how much different music they must have listened to and played :)
 
whats not easy at all is getting that bass tone on that song, im sure its a bit of post production too but its played almost like comping bass on an organ and that comes a lot from the tone used while playing..

My fave is #4. The outside influences you mention are heavily prevalent there. That album was a whole new STP. Songs were deeper and Weiland transcended his talent level. Brilliant.

ya like that slow song with that amazing almost jazz solo :) kind of latin influence too, in the rhythm
