If anyone is interested, MIT is offering a Physics of COVID 19 Transmission course for free. Just finished the first couple of lectures and it's pretty neat.

Pretty cool you're that deep into this stuff. I just couldn't do it. I mean I know how to make sure some invisible contagion doesn't get me and have been successful in doing so for almost a year now but no f'n way I could sit through an entire series of lectures on that stuff. One or two maybe out of temporarily peaked interest but not a "course".

Kudos dude.

I'm clearly odd. I've found a creepy fascination with this shit and can't stop reading about it. @APRIL kinda just rolls her eyes now when I talk about it.

Me: So it attaches to the ACE2 recept...
@APRIL: :ooook:

Speaking of...

The coronavirus does attach to the ACE2 receptor on the cells mostly in our respiratory system. That's how it propagates. I was just reading the other day that we have created fake ACE2 receptors that the virus has a higher affinity to. So soon we'll have the ability to inject these fake receptors to prevent the virus from really multiplying in the body at all.

So many fucking advancements. :cool:

Oh I'm sure we'll see all sorts of strains coming out of Africa in the next couple of years considering the logistical problems in vaccinating a lot of the continent plus the time it'll take to get doses to them. This is why foreign aid is so important - we don't live separately from the rest of the globe, what effects another country will come to fuck us up at some point too.
