About a week ago I woke at 04:00 allergic as hell. Went to take an Allegra and accidentally popped an Adderall of my kids.
Was a terrible day and reminded me of why I hit a drug bottom 35 years ago.
I'm not disparaging anyone who needs the stuff including my kids.
But I have no business on that shit.

Well, at least it wasn't a birth control pill.

yeah it's been a struggle figuring out the right dose, and I've definitely overdone it before. I'm looking for something that will allow me to complete a thought or task, and I've been self-medicating with coffee and cigarettes for years. I've managed to cut back on smoking a lot actually because I'd go have a smoke any time I got distracted (which was often) and that little nicotine stimulant boost would help me get back on track again. but when I forget to eat, I get too wired and oh boy is that not fun. it also sent my focus into overdrive, but I don't get to choose what to focus on, my brain just kind of picks something and then the next thing I know, I've spent 24 hours straight on the wrong task. I don't understand why someone would enjoy stimulants recreationally because I hate that feeling, but taking juuuuuust the right amount lets me function like a normal person.

to clarify, I said idk why people would enjoy them because they fuck me up, but the whole point is that my brain chemistry is wonky so I DO get how other people might have a different experience that COULD be enjoyable, it just couldn't be me lol

in my wired, hyperfocus state, I mapped out mine & Jason's genealogy and got as far back as the early 1700s for him. between the hyperfocus and the OCD, I just couldn't stop because "it wasn't done"

Got any cool stories? A great great grandfather got an honorable discharge from Gen Custer's command about 6-12 months before Little Big Horn. Dad actually has the signup sheet for his enlistment in his safety deposit box

As hyper-focused and wordy as you already get on certain topics I'm not so sure speed is the drug for you, LOL.

Joking. Good luck and well wishes.
From this end it doesn't seem like there's anything "wrong" with you but obvs Idk your day to day, etc.
