Did you used to get Phantom CDs in the US? When i lived in Europe, I used to buy these packages that came out once a month or two that was usually 6 CDs worth of games and software. You would need to dial into certain BBSs to get the hookup. This was circa 1997.
@Domon probably *was* the hacking group you got it from.

that was a fun time. But I was always fundamentally against making profit from anything cracked or pirated. Those people were the ones that deserved the FBI raids, not the scene groups.

I don't know enough about this shit anymore. Does that really matter or are you just being petty again?
I wouldn't buy a TLC drive. MLC or SLC are where it's at.

Also, that drive has no RAM cache, so it's PIO all over again.

edit: a simple goggle would have fixed you right up:

TLC: shortest lifespan, slower.
MLC: good lifespan, slower than SLC
SLC: fastest, longest lifespan, most expensive

I'm sure it matters at your office, but does any of that really matter for the consumer? I mean, they're going to be plenty fast and as long as MTBF is >5 years or some shit...

im surprised you're not still running SCSI or Fibre Channel or some shit
For spinny rust, it's hard to go wrong with SATA.

right now, I've got a bunch of HGST Ultrastar He8s in a RAID-Z array.

The main drive is a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB, because the mSATA slot on the dh77eb intel board is shit and unreliable.
