Ontopic The 3D printing thread

There are few things more satisfying than knowing you may not have enough filament to finish a print and to come back when it is complete and find it perfectly complete and the end of filament right at the stepper motor.

On the right is a finished one, the left is the past print of that roll. I cant even see where it ended.

That and organic style antennas, are probably one of the best uses for something like that. I wonder what sort of post processing it needs.
 
Measuring calibration cubes is pointless. What are you calibrating? the degrees per step on your motors? the number of teeth on your belt pulleys? Just in case your motor is 1.9 degrees per step instead of 1.8?

They're handy for diagnosing ringing and bearing stiction and other shit going wrong with your printer. If you can print a calibration cube with 4 clean sides, you're doing pretty decent.

You guys ever heard of the bearing on the extruder idler wheel going out? I'm having feed issues and it kind of feels/sounds like the geared wheel isn't lined up with the extruder idler somehow. The idler doesn't turn all the time.

Happens to every Ender3, especailly if you run high tension. I'd order up a cheap BMG clone like this one and swap the thing out.
