Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

It's true they hatch out in still water.
The rest of that seems like unsubstantiated sales pitch though as the scale is just so enormous. It would take an entire neighborhood of everyone doing what youre doing for only the ones on the interior of that community area to be truly mosquito-free.

We're talking about trillions of bugs and you are but a single source of light, CO2, killing power, or whatever.

If it gives you a mosquito-free yard for a get-together one evening, cool. But the numbers and sources of the things they like are just not on your side as far as single-handedly eliminating anything long term.

It briefs well though.
Well, if it can eliminate them for one evening, and if you string a bunch of those together since its running 24/7 - it becomes long term. Either way, they give you your money back if it doesn't work after 42 days, so I'm not going to lose anything...

How do they come up with 42 days? Why not 41 or 43?
That should give you pause.

Sick of hose reels lasting less than a year, bought this

Amazon product ASIN B01I727FQO
I bought an expensive ass all metal ames one two years ago, and it broke after a year, the whole thing galvanically corroded and the metal snapped in 2 different places. They had steel next to aluminum all over the fuckin place and the aluminum could be broken with your hands. How can you misunderstand basic material properties so easily.

Also plumbed the sump pump drain into the gutter downspout extension that goes 25 feet out from the house and added a cleanout. While i had it dug out, added a french drain on that side of the house for the hell of it. No reason not to have better water removal.

Went through all my screw bits and drill/driver dealies.

Got the ones I use 90% of the time into two Dewalt borganizers I had, instead of being all over the fucking place.

Now I can grab those two and the new quick change drill bits I bought and be good to go for whatever. Instead of back and forth trying to find shit.

Now I just need to keep them this way.
