Ontopic Random Computer-Electronics Thread

Someone gave me 2 of those, they were kinda of dirty so I pitched them. So dumb, those fuckers are snatched up by collectors for crazy money now.
yeah, i regret scrapping mine. I remember i was trying to break it down for the dump and i had to take the bandsaw to the chassis cause i couldnt so much as scuff it smashing it with a sledgehammer

Around 97-98 I put a mint Compaq(Pentium 90 - oooooohhhh) all-in-one with the original setup discs in a box. It's in my storage area - piss, last time I looked it was only worth maybe $200 on the open market. I think my old Erector set stuff is worth more.
 
WD had a batch of bad firmware on their reds a few years back that would rack up the load cycles, but they released a patch to fix it.

You might look into that, if it bothers you.
Looks like both of my 4TB drives (one WD and one Seagate) have this issue. I shall check this out.

edit: Where the fuck would I find firmware? Everything on their site seems to be for USB drives.
