Ontopic New Car Thread!

I don't have your skills/tools/experience, and I've got other shit to be at.

And hey, this is the first time I've had a mechanic do anything other than an inspection on the Fit, so I think I've still got most of my I FIXED IT MAHSELF pride still intact.
Listen, if I can do that shit, anybody can do that shit. Just take your time, keep track of the fasteners, and follow the directions.

FFS, I once put parsley in guacamole because I wasn't paying attention.

Oh, I can do it.

It just means I have to tool up more, unpack/organize a bunch of shit in the garage since I've only been living in the house for barely over a month, get the car towed again from the workshop to my house, probably make a couple more runs for more tools/supplies/whatever I forgot I needed, etc... when I've got a bunch of other new-house shit to tackle at the same time and I really need a working car again.

Having a mechanic fix it for me makes more sense right now.

Warranty?

Road trip in a beetle if you're a masochist.

People don't realize how unsophisticated and rough those cars were. They're slow and uncomfortable as fuck.

They're fun/hilarious to drive around for half an hour but doing a highway trip? fuck that.

I think he wants to actually arrive at his destination without the assistance of a tow truck

I wonder if you could AAA yourself across the country, and do it cheaper than driving somehow.

Pretty sure AAA has people that make sure those kinda loopholes are firmly shut.

We get 3 tows per year at 100 miles before they start charging. I don't even know if the 100 miles is cumulative or per tow.

Only used it once for like 2 or 3 miles, just so I could fix it at home instead of in a parking lot. Figured why not, it's part of the plan.

Here that's one step up from the entry level 7 mile tow plan. Membership fee was I think $85 instead of $35 or something.

I don't know how high the plans go but I bet you're not gonna tow a car cheaper than drive it.
