Daphne finally had her 6 month check up today, and holy jeez, she's a L O N G baby. her BMI looks low, but it's bc shes so tall. we got the go ahead to start varying her solids more (we still haven't done peanut butter because the weather has been bullshit every weekend). she has two little bottom front teefs sticking out and she loves to bite my fingers about it, despite having a wide variety of teethers. she had shots again today, and we have to venture back in a month for the second flu shot. buuuut, then she's good on shots until her 1 year checkup (there's a 9 month check up, but she's on schedule with shots so she won't need any at that visit). she can't quite crawl yet, she gets up on her knees and rocks like she's charging up, but can't figure out actual forward movement. she can push herself backwards, and she can roll and pivot well enough to where she can just roll & pivot to get to wherever she wants to go. we can't use the bassinet anymore because she can now pull herself up to a sitting position in it. we still don't have a crib thanks to the hectic living situation & moving - we're gonna get one, but she's been sleeping in our bed every night anyway. once she can really crawl, though, we can't let her sleep in our bed bc it's harder to keep her in one spot than just an arm over her to keep her from rolling (she sleeps in the center of our giant king size bed).

Geez hardly seems like it's been 6 months but congrats for a healthy baby.
All she needs now is a little brother or sister to grow up with. ;)
I got an IUD placed around 8 weeks postpartum so not planning to do that for a couple of years.l at least  they're good for 5, but if we wait that long I'll be 38 which is past the age where risk goes up (35). it's actually risky to get pregnant too soon after you have a baby (I think ACOG says no sooner than 6 months and preferably after 18 months). hopefully by the time she's 18 months we'll be in a position to figure out if we can afford another (and with the IUD there hopefully won't be any more surprises)

for me, life has been easier with 1
i cant imagine a bunch of kids in my life.
i guess it’s just not for me personally.
i love that it’s so easy to travel with 1.
i love that i can give 100% attention to 1
i dunno, he’s like my best friend and i have an incredible bond with him .. it’s hard to imagine splitting up all that love with more babes.

I KNOW ITS POSSIBLE OBVIOUSLY but i can’t imagine it.

my son has siblings on his dads side and when he comes home from the weekend visits he’s like OMG MAMÁ SO MUCH CHAOS! lol i guess he’s soooo used to our quiet easy laid back home where he is the centre of attention.

i have soooo much respect for women with lots of babies to love, i don’t know how they do it.
i guess i would have liked to have a daughter but i remember what a rotten daughter i was lololol

in my personal experience life is so easy with one ..

When our kids get back from their dads we are the ones that get to say “but it was so quiet!”

I feel like I'd be good with two, but I absolutely want to wait a bit. Jason and his sibling were 5 years apart, and that's a bit much because you end up staying at very different stages until you're an adult, but maybe plan to try to be having another when she's like 2 or 3. and who knows, I she might turn into a holy terror and I'll decide I can't handle another. idk, I never had siblings and I always wished I did, but part of that may have been wanting someone to share my trauma so there was someone who understood that my "ugh, parents" feelings were valid (and, as an adult, I can see how wanting someone to exist solely to suffer with you is actually p fucked)

Love doesn't get "split up", it just increases.
