Food TV shows that you may not be watching but should be

Long ago, I bought the Harmony 1000, which was an almost all touchscreen remote. That thing was HORRIBLE.
ahhhhh I had one of those. the touch screen suuuuuuucked. I had such high hopes for it but it was a nuisance.

Whoever decided designing remote controls with rounded bottoms was a fucking idiot. There are times where I’d like to adjust something or change a channel without having to have the fucker in my hand, and doing it while the remote is on a table is tricky.

The goddamn thing doesn’t need to perform in a wind tunnel.

These work pretty well. Also hard to lose.

The first remotes were trippin. Attached to the TV with a thick ass cable and the dial on the TV turned chunk chunk chunk no channel skipping, tons of snowy channels in between the three that functioned.

These motherfuckers today don’t know how good they have it. Buncha (something really offensive)

It was nice when things didn't go obsolete or just crap out every few years.

My folks bought a brand new RCA in the late 60's so they could watch the Vikings lose the Superbowl in color. That was our TV though the old black-n-white Motorola still worked fine.

That RCA was so reliable that sometime mid/late 80s they bought another one of the exact same model (XL100) just with remote control this time. Both the older ones still worked, put them upstairs.

So then that one was their TV until at least 2010 if not later when they got one of these new flat ones you can hang on the wall like a picture as it opened up some space in the living room and didn't need a converter box cause they switched broadcast channels to digital.

4 TVs over a span of 55-60 years and they only one I know for sure finally quit working is the old black-n-white Motorola. The others were bought because of some actual advancement. Color, then remote control, then flat panel that doesn't take up floorspace.

That helps to explain why you don’t see the attraction of hi def TV, or TV at all for that matter.

I'd consider hi-def more a refinement of what's there than an actual advancement. Yes, I know it's better but how high of definition do you really need? Can already see everything plain as day on the earlier stuff. By earlier I don't mean a old box CRT but the newer flat panels from before 4k oled or whatever.

Next real big advancement probably be something like virtual reality or projecting holograms or something.

That was touched on right after my roomie got our 4K TV. It replaced a higher-end 1080 LCD model, and the improvement was definitely noticeable. So, to answer your question, the answer is yes, I want it higher because yes, it looks WAY better.

But then again, we had a cable installer here once who was amazed I could see the difference between 720 and 1080. I’m amazed when people can’t. Even my brother had his cable box set to 720 for a year and didn’t notice, and he has a discerning eye.

Show idea.

Set in the past, a man known as a warrior in his field must protect his ideas, and he goes to unusual lengths to do so including illegal activity. His enemies rig the system to make it more difficult to cultivate his ideas, and he has to travel to far off lands just to keep his ideas safe and to bring it to fruition. His ideas are different than others of his type, even in looks.

I’ll call it

The Johndelorean

I’ve watched each episode twice so far, but I’ve seen that gunfight at least four times. I want moves like that droid.
