Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

Aaaaand the sale fell through.

"Well there's windows that need to be replaced in the sunroom, they failed the first round of inspections and we can't afford to change them with how much we're paying for the house"
"Those were in the property disclosure statement when you made the offer"
"oh"
...
"well it looks like we can't get the other inspections done before our offer expires, so sorry, we're out"

Motherfucker. The offer on the new house was conditional on this sale happening, so that fell through too.

We've decided we're sick of trying to sell the house and we're gonna take a break from it, enjoy the summer/fall, pick away at the house, and try again next year.

You at least get to keep their earnest money?

fuck man, that sucks. Im sorry

Their deposit wasn't due yet, unfortunately.
How can it be an offer without a deposit? The deposit is to encourage people from not pulling these kinds of shinanigens. Sorry it fell through gee. Maybe they'll come back but probably with some stupid low-ball. I just went through that shit about 3 months ago on vacant land FFS. We eventually sold it to them but they had to come back up to reality.

Everything's done all Fine Gentlemenly up here. "Here's your offer, and we'll have a deposit to you in a week."

That's crazy!! Missed sales opportunities for starters. And assholes who are selling a house in your area who send a friend to "make offer", just to knock yours off the sales block for a while. Most realtors won't present an offer that doesn't have an earnest money deposit - they get fucked too.
Sorry it went down that way.

Windows. Damn, not sure if new windows gives the same increase in sales price that say a new kitchen or bathroom does. Here's to hoping someone who is less cautious comes along. I know - evil Eddie.

Sorry about that gee.

Supposedly nothing happens for no reason, or things happen for a reason, or some fucking bullshit.

Fuck that motherfucker anyway. Your house was too good for him.

@Valve1138 I bought the ego trimmer and blower kit. Needed a blower, and it was on clearance so the trimmer came essentially free.

The blower is damn impressive, better than any gas blower ive had, including backpack ones.

I put the trimmer through the paces too, its weaker than my gas one on thick stuff (pokeweed, brush). But very adequate for grasslike brush.

The big weakness is the battery though, the 2.0a one that comes with it lasts about 11-17 minutes with either tool. Fine for a suburban yard, but not gonna cut it for when im out there for 2 hours doing the fencelines, treelines etc.

I can’t remember what battery came with with ours but it lasts a lot longer than that.

No bigger battery option? For Ryobi they have a 9.0 battery. THink I'm going to invest in one. $119-139 on the street.
