GAY Who are the Flatboi Downs - Part III

Hey, thoughts on this, since we're talking gas. A bout 6 months ago I parked outside and apparently the yoots in the neighborhood were back to siphoning gas. Non-locking fuel door flipped open was my first clue. ANyway, the little SOBs pushed the anti-siphon device down in the tube about 8"/22 cm. Major pain in the ass, am slightly reluctant to go digging at in intensely, have tried to snag it., no love FIll-ups are slow as fuck.

Suppose I can call the sheriff, make a report and eat the insurance deductible any time. FFS

@HipHugHer @Jehannum @Mr. Asa , any thoughts on this small yet burning issue?
Oh - 2009 Saturn Vue.
It's a 2009 Saturn. Set it on fire and collect the insurance money.

Otherwise, go get the collectors' edition set of those long neck needle nose pliers and go wild.

You'll probably have to replace the filler neck in any event (that shit's all pot metal and flimsy as fuck), so figure out how it attaches to the tank, and then go pick one at the U-pull.

Aww man, it's the perfect daily drive. Rarely any issues(knock on plastic), was cheap, a vehicle I don't worry about.
Looking online - sounds like that filler tube is not that bad to get out once the wheel well liner is out. Man the jackstands! (not cinder blocks o_O ).
*Apparently those rot out so maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

If you don't have to carry your toolbox with you it's a good car.

Pretty sure that guy that was knocking your Saturn is the same one that rides around with no spare tire.

We have all those things and a spare tire. Guess which one gets used first.
I have problems on that front with the Z cars.

The 300ZX carries a space-saver spare which is meant to be inflated on use. This is probematic for two reasons: 0) the spares are all basically dry rotted to death by now, and b) they're no longer available from Nissan. That means that even if I wanted to use one, I'd be in more danger than just patching the existing tire if possible. Even so, I'd have to do some ridiculous shuffling for the spare to even work, since it won't fit over the front 13" brakes.

The 240Z carried a space saver spare on a 14x5" wheel. That would be fine, if there were a single tire available for 14x5 wheels anymore that isn't too balloon-ey to fit under the rear deck. Later Zs addressed this by raising the rear deck some 3" to fit a full size spare, but again, guess what is NLA from Nissan? Any spare tire that would fit that rim.

My other cars all carry spares that are replaced when the other tires are replaced.

"Inflate upon use" spare pretty much defeats the purpose of having one, don't it?

I can understand all that other stuff.

When you're dealing with a manufacturer's halo car, there are a lot of things that you can file under the "malicious compliance" category in regards to vehicle regulations, as the thing was never really made to be driven that much.

It did make me shit my pants one time, though.

The "inflate" part of the equation was fulfilled by a can of compressed air. While I was painting the car, it (the can) spent some time exposed to the elements, and then a few months after getting the car back together, it decided to vent its frustration with that situation by exploding in the spare tire well while I was driving along.

Damnit, just pump some Slime blue label into all of them - if it's good enough for the military . Ok, just kidding for using on the car. But great stuff for the tractor or wheelbarrow.

That kinda stuff is far across my line of being practical.

Our cars that come with donuts get a plain Jane steel rim full size spare from the junkyard with something on it that holds air. Stupid donut can be a backup to that one.

Gravied but I figure even the best of cars should have a good basic selection of tools on board. Lime, shovel, tarp and duct tape are optional. :egads:
* I watched "Cop Car" the KEvin Bacon movie where the kids steal his cop car, yesterday - triggered! :fly:

I dislike movies that end ambiguously.

I like Kevin Bacon though, and bacon.
