WTF So I just dick'd my butt

Just found out the company I worked for before here filed for some patents on equipment that I did all the design & development work for and conveniently left my name off all the paperwork.
I will now make it my personal goal to destroy them.
I will make them suffer.
They will be driven before me and I will hear the lamentations of their women
Cocksuckers

Hardly worth the effort
Theyre a gaggle of idiots, which is half the reason I left in the first place
Were taking business from them left and right now
Ill just be happy with driving them out of business

Many of these companies get to claim the right to your intellectual property because you were a salaried employee and you probably signed it away. That's what lawyers are for though. Good luck with the case.

Yep. Ask the guy who invented the quick release ratchet or the other person who accidentally invented Post-it Notes.

Yep. And sometimes the employees do it quite willing.
My dad sold gearing plans that were adopted by GM for one of their transmissions in late 60's - 70? through their employee idea submission plan. $10k(top prize) for $100k+ of engineering value. Then he did it again another year - fucking gears again, something for their hobbing/cutting machines.
He didn't mind being underpaid, he just liked being left alone, gripping his #2 and pulling his slide rule.:p

Had to end things on the proper note. ;)

My great grandpa walked into general motors with a design to crank windows up and down. They laughed at him And stole it.

Your employer has a right to own the IP you create, but they don't have a right to leave your name off a patent that you were an inventor or co-inventor of.

There's no limit to how many co-inventors you can put on a patent, either, and putting someone's name on there doesn't mean you owe them anything. Leaving MD off a patent was a dick move. Not sure what the legal recourse is or if it's worth pursuing, though.

We're filing another patent at work, I'll ask the patent lawyer their opinion next time I'm talking to them.
