Ontopic String's and Adi's gear & pedal thread

More speakers are what move more air.
Unless his amp is a total pipsqueak he needs to get out of that whole "lowest ohms for most power" mindset. It's self defeating.
Didn't he say he was gonna buy another identical combo and bypass both internal amps and use an external amp which is stable down to 2 ohms?

I guess that whole minimalism thing kinda played itself out, eh.
I think I'm still pretty minimalist about it. I've had to increase a lot of my possession sense I started giging consistently. It's a shame that a man can rely on material possession better than other people. That's basically where all these purchases are coming from. People aren't reliable so I have to do it myself if I want it to be done right.

Anyways think of this as one stack not two cabs and another head. :p

I think so.

I don't understand buying combos to hack them up. Could leave them intact and just bring one or both as needed.

If the combo you're buying has the amp in it you can slave it to your current amp. You don't need yet another 2ohm amp to run everything.
I thought about doing that but I think it would be difficult to hear the volumes of both, making it easy to blow one. Plus the actual cab can handle almost double the power that the stock head puts out. I may try this any way though. I'm sure I can use white out to mark the best level on the slave.

The new combo will still be functional as a stand alone when I get done with it. The mod is basically to allow me to run one head into both cabs. I don't think I would need to mod it to run the other as a slave. I would need an adapter though cause the only output is a di.

Just match volumes during soundcheck.

The speaker can't handle double the amp output no matter what the label says.

It doesn't have an effects send/return?

I'm not trusting a sticker. I've plugged double the power into it and I can almost max it out. Unless the portaflex isn't really 500 watts, it's defenantly more than 250 like the TC.

Isn’t TC one of the brands that rates all of their products higher than actual rating?
