WTF I have decided to unfollow Jesus.

NA is a whole different world. If I had tried to achieve sobriety form alcohol through NA meetings, I’d be dead right now. The people who stay clean with NA as their tool should be commended. @nukes
Listen. The fellowship is a little bit wild west. But the literature is top notch and was written and edited and approved by the fellowship. It's clear. One of the first things you read and hear is the phrase "alcohol is a drug. We are people who cannot afford to think differently about alcohol..."

Whereas AA takes no stand on any drug other than alcohol. You could shoot heroin every day for a year and as long as you don't drink you can take a 1 year alcohol sobriety cake in AA.

Wow. Not my experience at all. Weed? Forget it. You aren’t sober. Some people there even think Zoloft is breaking the rules. One guy was in pain and avoiding a surgery because he couldn’t find a doctor willing to operate without anesthetic.

Well there are two schools in Alcoholics Anonymous. The old school, and the new school. The new school is basically na reinvented. They do things the same way Fellowship wise but they can't really change out the literature... it's still an Antiquated account of slightly closeted Christianity (the big book that is). The old school AA guys will kick you out of a meeting for talking about any drugs other than alcohol.. And that's my experience

So let's recap: although NA has psychos, they are CLEAN psychos which also includes alcohol.

Again, not my experience. Yes, there were serious NAers who I could definitely look up to, but at least a few of the “clubs” I attended that had both types of meetings if you were looking to score, you’d be able to find your drug of choice at the NA meeting.

I have a feeling you think I’m disparaging NA. I’m not. I’m disparaging the few groups that had meetings I attended.

The last part- agree. My home AA group, no. You could talk about any drug but if your share “stayed there”, an old timer would cut you off.

Dude, club houses are the worst. And that goes for AA as well. One of the things that does happen as a result of criminals being court-mandated to meetings is the fellowship gets watered down and not everybody's there to get Clean and or sober. You know what I mean. And those Clubhouse is just become Hangouts for near do Wells. If you are going to NA meetings that were at club houses you were seeing the lowest common denominator of both fellowships.

Sorry guys, I was just trying to fill another 15 lonely minutes. This place(work) is like a fucking funeral home. I haven't heard a human voice in at least 2 hours. meh, maybe I wasn't listening.
