After ten minutes of googling, I found out that the solar company we dealt with originally partnered with Mercedes-Benz who was rolling out a residential battery to compete with Tesla.

MB rather quickly dropped out of the market.

Vivint Solar then partnered with LG for there Chem battery, but there's just not enough availability.

So don't fucking lie to me :tard:

Found a company in Virginia that is a Powerwall dealer.

We'll see if they actually have any in stock.

Have fun paying that Tesla tax. I'd probably look at nickel-iron chemistry before lithium ion, it's not like you've got horrible space constraints (which is what the powerwall is primarily designed to alleviate), but you've got your mind made up, sounds like.

I'm assuming there's some sort of anti-islanding switch that you already have to keep your generator from zapping a repair worker, right?
 
Ask yourself, what would red-green do? I think red green would use an entire wall of car batteries that he bought used.
Per kwh supplied over lifetime of the system, lead-acid is a about triple the cost of nickel-iron, and double the cost of lithium ion, and has the highest maintenance requirements.

Well, I've found something worse than grounding to the water pipe.


No chain oil. That thing is gonna seize up in no time. No chain tension adjustment either.
Full motor current running through a shitty switch.
No low battery protection. Hell, the battery probably cost more than just buying a surplus chainsaw from harbor freight.

Why the fuck.
 
Somebody decided to make a chainsaw with a hot glue gun, a LiPO battery, an electric motor, a bar and chain set (from some homeowner electric chainsaw thinger), some PVC, and a couple of 1x4s.

Well that makes a lot more sense than just buying an actual electric chainsaw for like 40 bucks.
