Murdered by his girlfriends ex husband in Winter Park, Fla. I heard about the case at the time and thought about the name and said "eh there must be thousands of Jim McCarthys".
But I used to party with that one.

Got me wondering now if that was somebody's brainfart/honest mistake or if somebody's trying to be a real dick.

Seems it would have to get ok'd by some amount of proof readers, fact checkers, editor, before getting published. At least on a big, actual news site.
