and only little dick men drive manuals.
you know if I didn't bring it up someone else would have. And you know I'm just fucking around.
Fuck, you're still on that?
I guess you don't know cars beyond general knowledge. ST is a sports model of the Focus hatchback. Has slightly more hp than the GTI, but a touch less torque. Are those even comparable?
I know what a GTI is but isn't the Focus just a run-of-mill economy car?
I think the Focus is what a buddy of mine rented once. Seemed pretty roomy inside for being small, kind of like a Mini Cooper does but that's where the comparisons ended.
Spend enough time in it to get used to things and let the new wear off and it was just another economy car.
The GTI at least feels solid and isn't a bore to drive.

You're talking out of your ass again, manThere's designing a solid, drivers car from the beginning and maybe having different levels or options of that, then there's putting lipstick on a pig in the hopes of selling more pigs.
It's got some better parts, but the main difference is the big increase in power. If you a crazy fast Focus, then they have the RS model for that. But is it more solidly built than the other focuses? Thicker/stronger/more sway bars? Beefier hubs? Real crossbody supports? A real noticeable increase in power and performance?
Or is it a regular model with some extra stripes, logos, ground effects, and a slightly zippier engine the rest of the car can't do much with anyway?
Yeah the German car is always going to have a better build quality, however Ford's have always been better than the rest of non German brands in build quality. However I have only known larger Fords.ST's got hard seats, a hard suspension and makes a racket. Fast as balls but it's definitely got a bad case of "because racecar". And yeah, manual transmission so you'll have to accept that you have a small penis.
GTI is a lot more comfy. And if you're spending any significant time in heavy traffic, you'll appreciate the DSG.
But yeah, go with whatever you're into.
You're talking out of your ass again, man

One of my tires clearly has a slow leak’ish when out in the cold. Drops 6 or so psi and doesn’t recover when warm.
Another tire has a screw head stuck in it and I don’t dare pull it out. Should be patchable.
I’ll bring it in next week and have them looked at.
They only have 20% wear. It’d be nice to not have to replace them.
The Focus ST is a hot hatch based on the Focus, just like the GTI is a hot hatch based on the Golf. So, if your "based on a floppy dildo" idea has any merit at all, it's meritorious for both.A car magazine article in a car magazine who's sole purpose is to sell advertising to the makers of the very cars they are "reviewing" ain't exactly the best thing to go by. If I was going to be a dick I would say fanzine instead of magazine.
Nevertheless, there's "some" useful info there. "Some".
Not much practical though.
Gee post about hard seats, racecar feel and take on daily use is more informative.
@OzSTEEZ have you driven either of these? Or just shopping specs and reviews?
A short test drive with a salesman in the passengers seat distracting you counts for very little. A short test drive by yourself, a little better. Being able to rent one of each and spend a weekend and 300-400km in each to wear the new off and start noticing the little things is best.
It seems they souped up the Focus into a warp drive go-cart. Doesn't mean it's the better car, but if it's what you like then there it is. Remember you could spend years in this thing.
New cars are like new bras, you really have to at least try them on, and better yet, spend a day or two in them to see if they really fit.
As opposed to a car magazine who's purpose is to sell ad space to boat and bike manufacturers?A car magazine article in a car magazine who's sole purpose is to sell advertising to the makers of the very cars they are "reviewing" ain't exactly the best thing to go by.
