Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

Migrated the OpenHab2 install to the house server, forgot that the house server already has something on 8080, spent about 20 minutes in man pages trying to figure out how to move it to 8081.

But I did it.

Switches and stick come on Wednesday.

Going to setup .htaccess uname/pw for an external-facing website (also using SSL), so @fly won't turn my lights on and off.

That's the other nice thing about ST. An app with the ability to write your own apps for it.

Got my relay fully integrated into SmartThings. Just gotta tie it into the switch now. I was hoping that I could tie into it at the opener itself. However, only two wires come down to the switch and controls both the light and the door. I guess its using some circuits or some shit to decide which one to turn on. That sucks, cause I wanted it all in the opener itself.

I got the Aeon stick working with OH2 on my server, have the smart switches installed and enumerated, now I'm trying to wrap my head around OH2's channels/items/things abstractions.

Okay guise. How the hell do I make this relay work? This is what the button looks like.

apply power and short these points with a wire and see what happens. if one or the other or both open/close your garage, then this is what you need to connect your relay too. just connect the common pin on the relay to either solder point, and the normally open pin on your relay to the other one. i'm guessing you have 2 buttons? one probably does the light?

you might need another relay.

One button is for the door, one is for the light. I only care about the door. Based on what you see there, is there a (easy) way for me to hook this all up at the other end, on the opener itself?
