Here's an action picture I took of an extremely photogenic guy.

I took this one this summer at the park while my son was giving me a flower....I was thinking of getting it printed

So, my Canon Eos Rebel SL1 is doing weird shit. Pictures are extremely underexposed, in some it's completely black, but some it actually shows something. Even manually adjusting the ISO doesn't do anything.
It's done this once before, and removing and reinstalling both the battery pack and the lens fixed it.

I've got a report into Canon, but wondered if anyone has heard of one doing any of that shit.

Put the camera in manual mode. Set it to f/3.5, iso 400, shutter 1/60 and take a picture of a wall. Ramp the shutter up/down, take more pictures and see if the exposure goes up or down.

If it works as it should, it's a light metering issue. If not, it's a sensor gain issue.
