Do you need a time out so we can discuss hefe's again??? :p
Yes.

My languages:
English (Good)
Sarcasam (Excellent)
messican (I speak 'restaurant' messican)
Craft Beer (poorly)

Also, do I need to go to a place that understands the word 'hefe' ? Like, probably NOT the guy stocking the small craft beer section at the grocery store. Also, how forgiving are these people once I get to Craft Beer country? Like, if I ask about 'hefes' are they going to start talking in Craft Beer to me? Will I need to order an Amstel and take notes while I listen to the various brew processes and why I want what I want? Cuz that sounds like so much work.:D

You can find a halfway decent hefeweizen in any grocery store around here. You don't have to go to a craft beer store for them. You can find much better ones if you do, but you don't have to.

so I need to look for

Hefeweizen

or

Wheat Beer

on the label/box?
If you really want to get started, it looks like this place might be a good place to start...

The Beer Temple.

According to the reviews, the staff is not snobby and is educated in their beer selections.

My opinion... go there, ask about local hefe's if that's what you're into, and try a couple different kinds out. Then, if you can, find the local brewery that created it and see if they have tours. That's where you can really learn the basics in a short tour, and sample a few different kinds of beer on the cheap.Just think of it like an interactive Ted Talks session.

Dear God. I want a beer. Not a degree in beer!
Dude... The brewery tours are fun the first couple of times. After that they can get boring, but just to learn and understand the basics can be quite interesting. Then once you know the difference between the types of beer, from there you figure out what you like and don't like.

But it's all worth it when you find that one beer that becomes your favorite.

Just check it out. It'll take one Saturday at most to do all of that. And you'll learn enough to appreciate the differences.

Just took the test again... after like 3 years. A LOT has changed in my life in those three years and I know I've changed a bit since then.
