Ontopic Alcohol Blog - Post when you're drinking!

my cuz told me once, don't ever stop prospecting. In the end, you'll get your loyalty traded away for $ every time. Maybe not by your customer, but someone near them that has influence. Never stop prospecting.

She was exactly right. I've hammered out the last several mos and it's harvest time in my household. I'm slammed.
Of course. I was so inundated with work for the past couple months, I didn't have time to hire help or prospect. My bad time management issues, but now I have time. LOL

a vendor of mine say all the excuses you have for not prospecting and not marketing is like eating the seed corn. You'll regret that decision every time.

& even though I always 'got by' I'm not turning back now. it's grow time.

The exact opposite is also true outside of your excruciatingly small microcosm. I have a family full of C levels from Fortune 500 companies and they've all made a ton from being loyal.

Your microcosm is smaller.

Their loyalty just hasn't been traded away yet.

Don't be fooled.

You're the fool here. You rent a horse and think you're the god damned Sultan of Brunei. It's fucking hysterical.
Fortune 500 C levels don't need to work anymore by virtue of being there. It's about out-millioning the Jones's at the club at that point.

so. When are ya'll getting evicted?

Since my IT skills are really only helpful to large enterprise and I'm just one person, I'm still trying to figure out how to get in the door. I have a couple companies that are reselling my service. I've got some prospective clients from that, but nothing solid yet.

I do have another gig that isn't consulting that has some promise, we'll see. In the meantime, its a little scary. Not because we can't pay the bills, because we can both always go back to work. But doing that would seem like I've failed in some regard. I don't like to lose.

:( Hope that latter part doesnt happen. That would suck.

Perhaps a phased approach if it does? Work part time, consult part time?

own.

And what's hysterical is that you baby sit employee tech problems and play Fortune 500 strategy.

Let me guess, you got your degree from Monopoly?

If only we all had your insight. :p

Exactly. We are freaking out a little because it's been easy up to this point then we both at the same time run into lack of business.

Most of my business comes in at the beginning of the year when companies have new budgets to spend. Learned that this year and will bank on it better than I did.
