It's certainly not literally across the street from me. Those pictures are from Santa Fe, btw, not Taos. If we went to Taos, the temptation to make my wife (who is nowhere near as good as I am) go down steep, bumpy, narrow things would have been much greater.
They need lessons because it's the first time they'd been skiing.
