I should apply :p

One of the additional catch22s of this govt shutdown thingie is that my insurance premiums all fall to me now, and accrue.

So whenever i do get back, i get hit with a "bill" for all my back insurance payment from the shutdown period. Thats like a kick when you're down.

Send the bill to your employer. they agreed to cover it when they signed the contract with you.

I actually probably do have to apply. What happens if I just say screw it and don't have insurance at all?

I look like I'm under 26, can I sluff it off to my parents?

It's just a ripoff for young, healthy people, since they are required to subsidize the fat and old. yay for obamacare.

It took dividing the nation to remove the 'pre-existing condition' bullshit from health insurance, and I'm okay with that.

lol.

depending on your income, the penalty for not having is as low as $95.00 - per year. they take it out of your tax refund.

So if I'm poor I should be good?

I really am asking seriously. My insurance through work will disappear any day and I"m quitting entirely when I start school full time in January and paying for insurance on my own is out of the question.

but if you're 26 & younger you can just sluff it off onto your parents! yay for adult kids scamming mom & dad!

lol the parents can remove them. It's just the company can't cut them off before they've finished college and landed a job with health benefits. This is a good thing.

And all that means is that healthcare is now more expensive. It could have been done at any time, just requires more money from you.
