Wasn't it Clarkson who said per person, these "mass transit" systems use more fuel than any other type of transport?

saw that on headline news a little while ago...they had a cam on the back of the train in the vid clip and that sucker was moving!
WTF would I want to go that fast in/on something attached to the ground for? Hell .. NO. That is a HUGE accident waiting to happen imo.
I like going fast, but god damn.

Adjustments also were made to the new track, which opens June 10, notably the banking on turns. Rails were also treated to the wheels could would perfect contact, Cuccaroni said.
They can't even explain it properly. And Yikes @ going over 300 mph on a railed sytem around a "banked" curve.

somehow it seems more safe to be attached to the ground than hurtling through the air, but maybe that's just me. i just like the idea that if it breaks down you can get out without special equipment.
Oh yeah, right about the time a section of the track decides to take a shit (ie lose a bolt or something) .. right as you come barrelling towards it at 300mph .
