View Full Version : Back home again...
I just spent a couple of days in Ohio for the funeral of a family member, the less said about that the better. We actually made it through those days without killing anyone else. It was definitely an *interesting* trip.
I got a couple of pics of random family members after the funeral:
http://img7.exs.cx/img7/3428/family6.jpg
http://img21.exs.cx/img21/2523/family8.jpg
No, my kids aren't in either pic.
We stayed at a really nice place, Deer Creek Lodge, got a big discount because a family member works there.
http://img25.exs.cx/img25/8601/board1.jpg
We got a loft room, one of the larger rooms available:

http://img73.exs.cx/img73/2629/room18.jpg
http://img15.exs.cx/img15/8153/room22.jpg
The kids got the upper part, I got the lower level.
http://img15.exs.cx/img15/5484/room23.jpg
http://img42.exs.cx/img42/7492/room37.jpg
One of my kids left the remnants of his supper on the table, and had to clean it up later.
My younger son has an interesting concept of what constitutes "decorating"
http://img42.exs.cx/img42/6595/soldiers1.jpg
My older son thought the local wildlife was the best part of the trip. He and I were outside and saw a skunk not more than 6 feet away from us. Of all the times for me to not have my camera handy :( There were a LOT of deer, we almost hit one with the van on the way there.

http://img7.exs.cx/img7/2967/groundhog.jpg
There was a very nice lounge area for relaxing, too bad we didn't have more time to enjoy it.
http://img21.exs.cx/img21/7347/lounge.jpg
http://img78.exs.cx/img78/9695/lounge2.jpg
The view from the balcony out to the lake was terrific, morning and evening.

neat. I heard funeral and was expecting pics of gramma in the casket like that other guy.
Looks like a really nice hotel. I have to go away friday morning and don't think my hotel will look like that, especially for $32 a night...

the most fun I ever had at a funeral was when I was about 12 or so. We were playing hide and seek until I somehow locked myself in the room where they store empty coffins. At the time I did not know they were empty. I was very scared :/

No casket pics, I have a couple that someone else took but I didn't want to post them.
With the discount I got it was just over $50 a night, worth every penny plus :) The regular rate is upwards of $100 a night.

The funeral was for a family member I hadn't seen in over ten years. The rest of the trip was very hectic but OK otherwise

And tell your hubby that cupcakes without icing on them are not "muffins." They are just cupcakes without icing. so there :gloerf:

My new meds kick me on my ass.
I've taken them twice - yesterday at 6, which put me to sleep from 11 to 9 am, and again at 9, which put me to sleep until about 3.
I have to take them again about now, which I'm guessing will put me right back out.
I've never had anything put me out like that.
They seem to be helping, though.
The neurologist said to limit how much time I spend at the computer. :(
Back when I had my kidney stone removal surgery, they told me to limit how much chocolate I ate. Now they're telling me to limit my PC time.
I'm thinking I'm going to ignore this doc the same way I ignored the urologist.
:shady:
I also had my MRI yesterday on my neck & spine. Damn thing took 2.5 hours... This one was an open MRI, which was much less enclosed, but still kinda strange.
Not exactly a pleasant experience...
tl;dr

Cyclobenzaprine?
Something like that.
That and a couple Vicodin last night really knocked me out.
I need to go take another couple of those and get off the PC for a while. I can tell it's not doing good things by sitting here. :(

Thanks... Me too. Hopefully the MRI will tell them something.
The neurologist yestarday was pretty good. She seemed to actually care about the symptoms. I've never had such an extensive exam. Most of the doctors I've seen lately ask about 5 questions and send me on my way. This one didn't.
This is the first one that has me thinking I might actually get better.
