wow, just saw on the news that walmart is going to start selling 300+ over the counter generic drugs for $4 for a monthly supply...is this the end of cvs, eckerd, etc.? while this sounds like a good development for the consumer will we ultimately all suffer for walmart claiming more ground? might the military-industrial complex actually just be a front for walmart's much more nefarious goals of global conquest?

Unfortunately, trial and error. I know Pandora had some issues with generic birth control a while ago and I had some once for a perscription I was on. For me personally, it was very similar to the difference in drinking new, top shelf alcohol and drinking skank generic stuff. Both will still have the effect you're going for, but because of the garbage in the generic, you could have more side effects. My case happen to induce headaches because of the inactives they used in the generic. There also isn't as tight a tolerance for the active ingredients in generics, so that could possibly cause problems depending on what you're taking.

That's what makes the generic cheap for the most part. That doesn't mean all generics are bad or will have the same side effects. I'd at least start a new medication on the real deal so you know what its supposed to do, then move over to generic for a refill and see how its goes. Stuff like amoxicillin you can probably go straight generic since its been around forever.

I can tell you both with 100% certainty there is a big difference between generic Paxil and the real thing. Just because both drugs meet the minimum requirement set by the FDA, doesn't mean they're cut from the same cloth. My doctor couldn't tell what was causing my migranes but the binders were completely different and there was a small difference in the active. He was confident enough to say it was the difference in the active because the filler was harmless crap like cornstarch with no obvious toxilogical ills. It was on the order .005%, but it wasn't a rounding error. I can't speak to any other drug though. At any rate, stay away from this shit because the withdrawl period sucks.

Costco has been selling generic drugs for cheap for a long time. They don't even require you to have a membership to use their pharmacy. It's a good deal.
