I missed it today, only to find that it was delayed at T+9. I don't want this to happen again.

I think the point is that you can't spend your entire day/week standing around looking for the firey dot to the east. He wants to know when to go outside and look. This frees up more time for playing with his toys, getting buttsechs from Ape, and sometimes even going to work.
