I've never had much trouble flying the helos in any of the BF games. I much prefer the Desert Combat flight system to Battlefield 2 though. They were much more responsive and felt "lighter".

If this is the case, you can use your PID number instead to look up stats on BF2s.com.

Hella update: (Man this is an old post) You can actually search for your player name INCLUDING those nasty characters AND with wildcards (*) now. Use the Find Player page.


Finding your PID#

Go to the installation folder for BF2 and open the gp.info file -- it's just a text file, so wordpad, notepad or any text editor will do. Inside you will find the Player ID number inside brackets []. Here's what it looks like for me:

Plus I'm a n00b. I haven't played sine the 1942 demo came out. Most of my points were just off of running around and reviving people or fixing armor. Didn't get shit for kills, cause I never seemed to be able to get the drop on anyone. But everyone seemed to have no problem with being able to shoot me in the back. I hardly ever saw the person that shot me, except in the few cases where I came around a corner into a face-off.

Seriosly though, when I logged in to my first game last night, a fight at Karkand that was already underway, I was sooooooo overwhelmed. I had no frackin clue wtf was going on. And it was only a 16 man server :eek:

oh yea, funny moment of last night was the first time I got killed by cartillery. I was laying prone by a flag position, neutral, trying to take it. All of the sudden there was alot of shade. Whenever I play Sharqi on the U.S. team and man the city entrace TOW missile (the one by the bridge at the top) the Durka commanders usually drop a car on me to try and save their APCs. Happens all the damn time now. And I always see people dropping cars on artillery to blow them up, too. Pretty gay. Creative, but gay.

It's the same principle as standing in a road surrounded by enemies shooting at you, and your buddy comes crusing through in a humvee to pick you up. He does blasting past, you're holding down 'e', and you do the impressive teleport-jump inside and are carried off to safety like some hand-grabbing, swing-up-onto-the-back-of-the-saddle horse rescue in a western.

Both work perfectly.

I enjoy the ziplines. So I vote yes

SF is fun, but to be honest I don't know why I picked it up. It's basically just several more maps. The ATVs are super fun (ultra small and ultra fast) and the grappling hooks and zip lines are kind of liberating (you can FINALLY get up onto lofty balconies or isolated rooftops to shoot down on people). SF is fun, but to be honest I don't know why I picked it up. It's basically just several more maps. The ATVs are super fun (ultra small and ultra fast) and the grappling hooks and zip lines are kind of liberating (you can FINALLY get up onto lofty balconies or isolated rooftops to shoot down on people). But for the price tag it's kind of not worth it. I just got bored and downloaded it one night.

what video card do you have? I have a d610 with the 32mb X300 and it plays. smoothly at the lowest quality settings (100% visibility, though...never do less than 100%). 2ghz, 1gb ram

Knyte, I don't know about the Armored Fury or whatever it's called. Some people say it's fun to have 5 and 6 tanks going at each other, and they say the little bird helicopters (like in Blackhawk Down) are awesome, but who knows. $10 more I don't need to spend.

My suggestion to Fly was that since most of us now have headsets and mics, we should form a specific squad when we play, and leave it open for randoms to join up, but then say really fucked up stuff and see how long they stay in the squad. Say things like, "God dammit Knyte, if you TK me one more time with that Arty, I'm not using any fucking lube tonight." Or Fly can say, "Gotta go AFK for a min guys, Ape's taking a shit on my chest."
