I can get pretty emotional, and can get a bit teary at movies or watching TV. But honestly I believe the last time I got misty was during mothers day and the day after mothers day, thinking about my friend Jacob who had passed on. He was from an old forum and we never met, but we became very close online. The first time I spoke with his mom was a few months after he died, when I called his house concerned that he hadn't been online in a long time. I thought about her for the last two mother's days in a row wondering if I should call her or send something, do something to let her know that I appreciated what she did in raising Jacob and bringing him into this world even if it ended much too prematurely. And actually I'm misty right now thinking about it.

most likely a girl.
though lately there's been this commercial on the radio for a stop smoking program, it's a bunch of kids saying things like "i want you to quit so you won't run out of breath when we go hiking" and there's one bit where they're saying "so you'll be there for my high school graduation" "my college graduation" "my wedding day"
when that last little girl says that bit my heart skips a beat. it's very strange

My son's school put together a photo album of all his pictures they had of him since he started there. This is his last summer there. It's unbelieveable how much he's grown in the past two years from a toddler to a little boy. I use to hate dropping him off becuase he'd look so sad and I'd have to fight to keep from turning around and going back for him.
I think of the Season Finales the Office one was the best where Jim and Pam finally kiss.

Me, i'll tear up if I read about little kids getting hurt/abused. that just fucks me up big time.
I'll also tear up if I read about some one doing something really cool, like University of San Francisco 1951 football team turning down an appearance at the Orange Bowl because they would have been forced to not dress/take the two black guys on the team.

Nope, not until I get my green card. I've applied for it, they've taken my money and my fingerprints- and now we wait. Said it could take between 12-18 months. I hope sooner but anyway. I should however get my work permit in the mail anytime now. So I can finally get back to work!!!
Edit/ I can leave the country but I have to get advance permission. And pay them a couple hundred dollars. The thing is, it can take a few weeks to be processed- so in an instance like a death in the family, I wouldn't get the permit quickly enough.

I'm not a big fan of funerals. Although, when my boss died in 03, they had us laughing at the wake. She was such a great ol' lady. Hopefully the wake will recharge some fantastic memories for you that'll leave you with a smile.

:( slight oversight on my part. I must have missed the 4000 miles. Grab a photo album if you have one and have a lil wake of your own.
Edit: It's the good times that remain in our memories. If the photo album isn't do-able, call up some of your family that went and talk to them about it. It'll give you an opportunity to talk to family you may not have had contact with in a while.

about the only movie that really drove me to tears was "Radio Flyer" (with a 12 yr old Elijah Wood, seeing it later in life just made me feel old :( )That really old movie about two kids who were abused by their father.
The thing was when it came out, I knew even back then (1993) that movie had nothing to do about the kid being able to fly the wagon at the end.

Whatever sad movie or TV show I saw last. Seems it gets to me more and more the older I get, it kinda sucks. Funerals in movies get to me in particular. I've already been to 6-7 in my relatively short life (26) so I have plenty of fuel so to speak. The last time I cried real bad was on the last funeral a couple of years ago when we buried my aunts husband who died way, way too early (brain aneurism).
