We stopped by the model home last weekend and took pics of the house, so I thought I'd share. Unfortunately, we have to wait 6-8 months for them to build it.

For content: We need effective torture techniques to get the builders to work faster.

We'll keep you updated. We are going to go in the week before we move all of our stuff and paint everything the colors we want so we don't have to paint around furniture.

I really like it. That's exactly what FB and I are looking to buy in a few months. In fact, we are meeting with a financial planner thursday night so hopefully if all goes well we can start looking this summer. I'd rather something brand new but who knows....

The problem is, a house like that here will cost about a billion dollars

Stupid expensive west coast housing.

I like Knyte's shoes in the first pic! : - )

J/K - It's beautiful. I had a house build once upon a time, it was a pain in the ass and they truly move at their own speed. Lucky for you they are building over summer and not winter! My parents are building now and it has been in the works over a year.

Im very jelous! as much as I love our house i would LOVE a brand new house with nice open kitches, etc.

Congratualtions! Let us know the final move in date so we can send housewarming gifts!

I know. I was more asking whether it was built by a certain chain of developers :P

It's almost twice as much space as we have now, plus a garage and yard. We plan on being there for 5-6 years.

Oh I know all about being impatient. I can't imagine having to wait about 6 months. After we found our house we had to wait about a month for all the paperwork stuff to get shuffled around and signed and that was long ENOUGH! Have you started packing yet? ;) :fly:

It's actually a Fieldstone Home, but as was pointed out, it's a fairly basic floorplan so I'm sure it's quite similar to ones other developers use.

I have boxes sitting at my house waiting for me. :fly:

That's only cause we have to sell our condo and we will be moving into an apartment until the house is done.

We're going to be doing quite a lot of painting prior to moving in.

The first time we asked Haylee what color she wanted her room to be she said (in her darling, soft, little voice) "Pink". On visits to Home Depot she always choose a pink color in the paint department and has to take one of the sample cards home with her.

PINK!

I wonder why. Most kids I've met go for bold, like crimson, or chevy yellow.

Ya definatly paint the place before you move your stuff in.
Doing it afterwards is a pain in the garagehole.

I have.
If you get the real 2-part epoxy stuff (as opposed to just paint) bear in mind it takes about a week to cure properly. Its worth it tho. You can spill anything on that floor and it cleans right up.

Yar, with marine epoxy. You have to be sure that there is no moisture coming through the cement at all or it just pops off. We cleaned it with acid, then water, then applied. It's nice.

I think people need to realize that this is a starter home. Couples who are just getting into owning a house rarely move into custom 6,500 square foot palatial residences in my experience.

I think it's a fine little pad, and I'm very happy for them.
