I thought about getting another cat but instead came to my senses and settled on a Portuguese Water Dog. We'll get one in December

SchmilK and I have been eyeing this breed for about a year now. We've already established that once we get a house with a big yard, we're getting ourselves an F1 male.

Actually lots of time they'll breed a bengal with a serval to get the savannah... but savannahs can get up to 40 pounds and jump 8 feet high from a sitting position. They're HUGE

They aren't domestic cats tho... they are like tigers! Rawr!
I've heard of people having to give them up because they are too rough... rougher than dogs with those big teeth and claws.

Savannahs or Servals? Savannahs are like an aggressive domestic... Servals are out and out wild and can't even really be housetrained.

No, I mean, you're right, it's only reasonable to expect that a half wild animal is going to act half wild... rather naive to expect one to act fully domestic. Although we have domestic cats which act wild. The cool thing about savannahs is that you treat them as domestics. You need no special licensing, no special food, and no special vet treatment. All of their care is that of a fully domestic cat. Whereas if you had a serval or an asian leopard, you would need special licensing, special diets and special care.

One of my cats is a Bengal, bred from an Asian Jungle Cat and Siamese I think....
No problems with the half-wild, OR bad siamese traits. He's loud, but amazingly friendly such that he always wants attention.
