Ok, since the other thread got locked down, here is where we can poast info and updates about tattoos. Talked with my artist yesterday and she is going to work on sketching the phoenix design next week (they don't have much time to work on stuff like that on the weekend, too busy) and I will probably meet with her next Friday or Saturday to check it out, make sure proportions and placement are ok, and will then be ready to start inking after that. I'll get a price from her at that point too. It's going to be flippin sweet.

And to consolidate, here's what I've got so far:

I've got one on my left shoulder. The dot to the right of it is a freckle that popped up after I'd gotten the tat.

Why get asian tats if you can't read the language?

because I like the flow of the characters. It's pretty much it's own form of art. And though I can't read his, I know exactly what mine say, as I put alot of research into it first to make sure that I knew what I was getting, instead of someone who just picks a cool one off of some flash and then finds out afterwards it means "One who punts while nev catches."

it says love. I was planning on getting love, luck, and happiness all in a row (i have the screens for luck and happiness in the same size) but I didn't have enough cash at the time for anything but the one.

I've got a li'l red and black solar spirally thing between my belly button and my... um.... you know. Thing is, the fuckhole who did it got the colors backwards, and it's not quite centered. The experience should have soured me on the whole concept, but oddly... I want another one. Something on my back.... don't know what yet.

The leg one was done at midnight iguana in athens, GA. Don't remember the guys name. Back and arm were done here in Savannah at Blue Moon Dermagraphics, the only place I'll go now. My previous artist was Brandon, but he's left so I'm now working with the chick who did JJ's tats, Meme. It's a great place. Very clean, get's a 100 on every health inspection. Certified nurse onsite. Good work ethics too and a great staff.

I should take pictures of them for you this weekend.

And if it just happens that you have to take a full nude spread to be able to fully capture the beauty of the tattoo, by all means, please do!

It's something she debated for 12 years to do. When her mother died, she wanted something to remember her by. She got a rose (that she drew herself) on her shoulder. Inside the rose, there's a mickey mouse symbols. Both her and her mother are very avid Disney Fans.

Ok, my artist got the design done and is ready to start working on it. So now I'm giving Pandora and tehac a couple weeks to get their designs together so they can come down when JJ and I go. But the wait is killing me! Now that I know it's ready, I want to go now now now :omy: Damn these things are addictive.

Yay! Tatts are done! Pandora and I both got ours done on Saturday. Her's took about an hour (correct me if I'm wrong) and mine a little over 3. Alot shorter than we expected, Meme did a great and quick job. Even her boss had a hard time believing she did it that fast, except that he was there the whole time.

They were thinking about having me come back in after it heals to freshen up the older tribal peice and then have me enter into the tribal-fusion competition that is going down at the convention in Tampa on March 31st, but we checked online and they are not doing that category this year :( The other ones that it would go under (tribal and/or male backpeice) would probably get killed by some of the other work entered sine they are two of the more popular categories.

Turns out I'm going to have to go back in anyway, as we missed a spot. There is a portion of the tribal that was supposed to get filled in with the phoenix design, but was missed. About 1 inch in size. I have to go back in after it heals so she can add another 4 lines and shade the feather. Probably have them touchup the tribal too while she's back there. The funny thing was that out of the 12 or 13 people that looked at it at the studio on Saturday, not a single one noticed the missing spot.

Pandora brought her star design down with her and we worked on it some Friday night. Saturday, she worked with one of the design guys at the studio to finish off the design and color scheme and it came out verah nice! We both have copies of the pics, so I guess we'll see who posts what first. I've gotta wait till I get home to post anything though, so pop back in again later tonight.

We all proceeded to go out to a bar that night, and I think she made it through the night ok. I only got patted on the back a couple times . . .

I think I'm going to finally get the other two I've wanted for a while now. The girlie I'm seeing now has a couple and seeing hers has rekindled my desire to get the rest of my inkwork done. I'll probably get the one I have now touched up a little too, it's starting to fade. :(

How's Shadowmarch?

You're going to roll over in the middle of the night and jump out of bed howling.

I was part of the online community while he was writing it and releasing it to us chapter at a time. Read it all a couple years ago, and still have my three ring binder bound first edition.

Nah, this one is nowhere near as bad as the tribal. Due to the wash style she used (it will end up coming out a lighter black/grey when it heals) it was not too deep on the shading. The part of the lower tail and to the middle right on the neck are the only places that really hurt much. Kinda like a sunburn. The more concentrated fills (tribal, pandora's star) are what hurt more.

The crappy thing with the one on my back, that I had someone make it for me... I got thrown in a pool a few years ago, and my wallet was in my hand, the picture was in my wallet... yeah so the picture got ruined, and now me and the other girl no longer speak.

So I dont have the original of the picture to finish it. Although it looks fine alone, I kinda think I would like to add to it. Maybe I will post a picture and see what people think.

Well, I'm going to add 2 more kanji to my left arm/shoulder. I've got love up there now. I'm going to have that re-inked and they're going to add happiness and good fortune underneath it.

I have to have the one redone because I got it 6 years ago (2 weeks after I turned 18) and it faded and got kinda splotchy because they didn't really do that great of a job with it apparently. This way they'll all look the same and I won't have one that's all old and busted looking and 2 that are all nice looking. I'm going to bring the digital camera with and have Sheena take a bunch of pics during the process so I can share them with UF. :heart:

Then, later this summer I hope to get something rather large on my right shoulderblade or a sleeve on my upper right arm/shoulder area. I'm not sure yet, but I want to get something on that side of my body too. :)

It's not really a sleeve... Just 3 symbols. It's on my left arm, I cropped it so you'd see just the tattoos.

the top one represents love and was done 6 years ago. i had it touched up so they'd all look the same. Under that is happiness and then at the bottom is good fortune.

I know what they really mean. I did a bunch of research before I got the first one 6 years ago and rechecked a few things before I got these. ;)

Then, later this summer I hope to get something rather large on my right shoulderblade or a sleeve on my upper right arm/shoulder area. I'm not sure yet, but I want to get something on that side of my body too.
